How to Edit a YouTube Video Using Filmora

Download and Install Filmora
- Go to google or any of your preferred browser
- Search for Filmora9
- Download and install Filmora9
Create Project
- Go to start menu
- Look for Filmora9 and launch the application.
- A welcome screen will appear
- Select new project
- Wait while it loads
- Follow the registration process.
- Go to the film menu
- Select Project settings option
- Select the ratio the final cut your video will have.
- You will have several different options. Including standard 16:9 or 4:3
Import Video and Start Editing
- In the upper left corner of the video editor you'll be able to see the Import button, click on it and select the Import Media Files option
- Navigate to the location on your hard drive where the footage you want to edit is stored.
- Select the video, audio or photo files you want to use in your project, and click on the Import button.
- In the Import menu, you will see Import with Instant Cutter Tool option as well.
- The Instant Cutter Tool is designed to make trimming 4K and all other large video files as fast and easy as possible.
- You can use the lens correction tools or the Fish Eye Distortion effect to enhance your videos with ease.
To cut or trim your videos
- Drag them from the Media tab, and drop them on the timeline.
- You can add as many video clips as you want
- Each new file you add will be placed after the previous one
- To rearrange them, you have to drag the files to the desired position on the timeline.
- Press Play or hit the Spacebar to start previewing the video clips you've added to the timeline Or use the playhead to jump to a certain point in the video.
- You should place the playhead in the exact position where the part of the video you'd like to cut starts and then perform the same action at the other end.
- You can add visual effects to your videos.
- You can add transitions or music in the background.
- Click on the Text /Credit icon if you want to add opening titles, end credits or subtitles to a video.
- The software offers a lot of different text templates you can use for a wide range of purposes.
- Drag and drop the template you selected to the desired location on the timeline, and proceed to insert the appropriate text in the software's preview window.
- Click on the Export button once you are done with editing the videos.
- In the Output window, you can easily select the video file format in the Format menu, and optimize the video for Smartphones, iPads or gaming consoles such PS4 or Xbox One.
